Sparkles 2K17 is being organised at Leisure Valley on 10th February 2017.

 The poster of the event was launched by Asha Jaswal, Mayor of Chandigarh at Press Club.

While launching the poster, Mayor of the city applauded the role of students for the noble cause.

The event will witness the live performances by renowned Punjabi singers

Hardy Sandhu and Zora Randhawa.
The event will also accommodate the performances of esteemed singers and also undiscovered talent of special kids.

The funds collected from the sale of tickets for event will be used for the purpose of donation.

Navsankalp was founded by Harpriya kaur, a student of D.A.V College Chandigarh, in the year 2006. Over the years the number of members has grown from a mere 7 in the year 2006 to a handsome 350 members today.

Orientation 2K16-17 held

8th September: The Orientation 2K16-17 for NavSankalp was held at the MCM College. The programme began with the formal welcoming of the new recruits into the Sankalp family. This was followed by a dance performance by one of the Sankalpians. The surprise and also the highlight of the event was the arrival of Harpriya Di, the founder of NavSankalp. Her very presence was needless to say uplifting, motivating and highly inspiring. A couple of videos were shown and there were various performances such as Bhangra, Singing, and Hip-Hop Dance. The programme concluded with the announcement of the various heads who will be taking up responsibilities for the various posts of Sankalp.

Donation to Arshdeep and Aditya

Chandigarh 25 July: No one can whistle a symphony; it takes the whole orchestra to play it.
Yet another precedent in the field of humanitarianism. With the humongous efforts of all the working members, Navsankalp Association successfully added two more donations to the list in the presence of Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh.
Members of NavSankalp, along with Shri. Ajit Balaji Joshi, DC, Chandigarh made the NGO’s 87th and 88th donations at the DAV college, Sector 10, Chandigarh.
Arshdeep, a 9 year boy, suffering from G.B syndrome, received a partial amount of ₹31,000 and Aditya, a six year old, hailing from 30℅ deep dermal burn received ₹41,000 for his medicinal expenses. Both the boys are healthy and going through a speedy recovery.

NavSankalp  Chandigarh celebrates Christmas with the innocents.

NavSankalp Chandigarh, a student run organization, which has taken the charge of helping those children who can’t help themselves, has successfully saved lives of approximately 71 lives by donating an amount of Rs 31,000,00 in its lifespan. More specifically, this organization clears the bills of children below the age of 17, who suffer from life threatening ailments.

This alliance has always been a Santa for children belonging from the poor strata and on this special occasion of Christmas hosted a small event, which was reunion of some of the children who were helped by this organization in session 2015-16. This reunion included some entertainment activities for the children and their family. All the members had an interactive session with the patients as well. A small gig was also performed where a member dressed up like a Santa and played with the kids. Eight patients blessed the event with their presence. The patients who were present during the event were Ekanshi (9 years), Manjot (13 years), Sonia (2.5 years), Anshnoordeep Kaur (7 years), Rahul (16 years), Aanchal, Kaka and Jasdeep Kaur.

The event took place in DAV College, Sector-10, Chandigarh. Miss Gunjan Sharma (President 2015-16) thanked Dr. B.C. Josan (Principal DAV College) for his resolute support.  NavSankalp has been a highly active association of college going students, which hosts number of fund raising events such as ‘Market Collection’, and ‘Sparkles-The Mega Charity Event’.  The initial idea to setup NavSankalp was offered by Miss Harpriya kaur, a Bio-Technology student and an alumna of DAV College, Chandigarh. The struggle of spreading this cause started back in 2006 with mere 6 students and nil recognition. Over the years the Number of Members has grown to a handsome 350 active members today.

Navsankalp, an NGO striving to help the needy and poor children with the kind co-operation and collabration of doctors at PGI brought smile to another innocent face by donating and amount of Rs 60,000
To Ekanshi, a 9 year old girl, suffering from Infective Endrocarditis with Mitral Valve repair. His father, Rajpal, who was a labourer could not manage to financially support her daughter in need, this is when NavSankalp showed empathy to the patient and father.
The formal donation was made in the presence of Dr B.C. joshan (principal D. A. V college Chandigarh ), Prof. Ravinder Chaudhary,Prof. Sumita Bakshi, Prof Ravinder dogra, professor in-charges for NavSankalp, Dr Anuradha Jatana and other member students of the organisation. Mrs. Gunjan Sharma , the President of NavSankalp thanked the people of tricity, for investing their faith and trust in the organisation, and making generous contributions for a good cause.
“Children are the human form of God”,they say. It is,yet again proved as the members of NavSankalp celebrated diwali and spent two days with children of different institutes including Sorem, Mother Teresa school, Vatika high school, School for dumb and deaf and orphanage on the occasion of children’s day. On this special day all the members of organization visited the institutions and participated in different activities like playing games, dancing, interacting with the children, painting and singing. Also, all the little angels were provided refreshments with the kind cooperation of our sponsors from different markets of tri-city. NavSankalp has been visiting and making memories with these children since past many years.

NavSankalp has been a highly active association of college going students, that has saved the lives of over 67 innocent children, all below the age of 17, belonging to the poor strata of our society, by donating a sum of over 28 lakh rupees, till date, which the students collect by a number of fund raising events , such as ‘Market Collections’ , and ‘Sparkles- The Mega Charity Event’ . The organization was founded by Harpriya Kaur, a student of D.A.V. College Chandigarh, in the year 2006. Over the years the number of members has grown from a mere 7 in the year 2006 to a handsome 350 members today.

Annual General Body Meeting

7th October, 2015

Annual General Body meeting was held on 7th October, 2015 in DAV College, Chandigarh. The Calendar for the year 2015 was announced. Miss Gunjan Sharma read the Code of ethics and guided the new members to work hard to maintain its legacy. The house approved its accounts and some amendments of the constitution.

Donation to Sarthak

NavSankalp Chandigarh , a charity organization, run by the students  of D.A.V College, sector-10, took forward the legacy of saving innocents by donating a handsome amount of Rs 1,01,055 to a 6 year-old boy, Sarthak, who lost his father,late Kamal Kumar,in 2006.Mother being the only earning hand,that too by stitching clothes, could not manage to financially help his own child.Doctor said that the infant was suffering from atypical haemolytic uraemic syndrome, which needed urgent treatment.This is where NavSankalp came to rescue.The innocent has been successfully treated and is at the pink of his health also he was present during the official donation with an innocent smile on his face.

The formal donation was done on 6th October in the presence of esteemed dignitary,Dr. Navdeep goel , Dean student welfare,Dr. B.C. josan (principal D.A.V college ),Anuradha jatana,our professors in-charges prof. Ravinder Chaudhry, prof. Ravinder dogra, prof. Sumita bakshi and Associate Prof. Harish Kumar,CSE department,UIET.Ajay Mahajan and  Patient’s mother, thanked Miss Gunjan Sharma, the president of the organization, with teary eyes. NavSankalp’s donation not only cleared the bills of the little soul but also bought back the hope to live to Sarthak’s Mother.

Interviews at Panjab University

Interviews were conducted in the Conference Room at Students’ Centre, Panjab University on the 11th, 12th and 13th of August, 2015.
250  appeared for interviews out of which 130  students from colleges from all over the tricity  were selected.
