ABOUT US

NavSankalp is a Charity Association that empowers the downtrodden and links them with the main stream through financial support. More specifically, NavSankalp helps those critically ill children, whose family cannot afford the treatment of their child’s ailment.
The initial idea to set up NavSankalp was propounded by Ms. Harpriya Kaur, a Biotechnology student and an Alumni of DAV College. She is currently pursuing Ph.D. in Epidemiology at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska, United States .With the support of few more humble volunteers she managed to seek the support of college authorities. On 2nd November,2006 her hope saw the light of the day and henceforth, every year it is celebrated as the NavSankalp Day.
Prof. Umesh Vinayak (Retd.) and Prof. Ashok Kumar (Retd.) and Prof. Rosy Walia gave their whole hearted support for this noble cause. Their belief in “from unknown to well-known” now binds 250 members in this association.
Navsankalp makes the donation to PGIMER, Chandigarh, through cheques and the financial assistance is channelized in a transparent and judicious manner to ensure the proper utilisation of funds. The association organizes an annual visit of its members to the Orphanage – Snehalaya in Maloya (Chd), Old Age Home at Sector 16 and Blind School at Sector 26.
